Legacy Building
Nurse Leader
In order to further her knowledge and professional impact, Faye earned certifications as a CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor), IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and DONA (certified doula, DOULAS of North America). Faye also currently holds certification as a CCRN(Critical Care Certification/Neonatal) and is also PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
Throughout her career Faye has cared for patients of all ages, however, her love and lifelong passion has always been for the care of the child-bearing family with a specific focus on premature and critically ill newborns. With almost thirty years completed in service, Faye has officially pulled out her retirement calendar but knows she still has some work left to do. Her current roles include nurse manager of the Children’s Services (Inpatient Neonatal and Pediatrics) at the Governor Juan F Luis Hospital and Medical Center and one of two Nurse Representatives on the Territorial Health and Hospital Board of Directors.
In her new role as Director of Advancement for the St. Croix Seventh-day Adventist School, Faye’s primary goal is to alter the way Christian education is perceived across the island. “I think members of our community really do not recognize the vast gem field we have. In many aspects, the foundation I received at the St. Croix SDA School allowed me to stand with and sometimes head and shoulders above both national and international students. I want the present and future generations of students to have what was available to me plus so much more.”
Her journey through the halls at the St. Croix SDAS is multigenerational. Not only did both her younger siblings graduate in the classes of 1990 and 1996, but her now adult children, Kiana and Kyle, are also alumni who graduated in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
During her free time, Faye enjoys listening to music, renovations, interior decorating, reading, and traveling. Her most recent international travel to Egypt and Israel were the most impactful. Faye loves spending time with Modestus, her spouse of 28 years and often gets him involved in completing her projects both big and small.
Spotlight on Alumni
Our alumni continue to lead, strive, excel and shine!
So be a ripple in the pond of your life. Always leave a mark, always disturb the status quo just like Jesus did; and always, always commit every day to know your Creator and be more of what He intends for you to be.
I am elated that the words written across the top of my 7th grade classroom, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” still motivates me along my journey”.
John has a passion for sharing God’s love with all and leading people to a relationship with Jesus Christ. He credits his accomplishments to
committing his life to the Lord in high school.
Thankful to her parents commitment to Christian Education, Evril attest that it was the foundation that she needed to become the person that she is!
Being in a caring environment made me want to get more involved in mental health awareness and give back.
